The 3rd edition of the Cloudscape Brazil workshop takes a practical look at some of the major challenges and requirements to the adoption of cloud computing, exploring pathways for closer collaboration between Brazil and Europe on issues of common interest. Held in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the event is organized together with the WCN Workshop on Cloud Networks during the Conference of the Brazilian Computing Society CSBC 2016 (http://www.csbc2016.com.br).
EUBra-BIGSEA is actively contributing to the workshop agenda and discussions. Ignacio Banquer, the European coordinator, will give a presentation during the WCN Technical session as well as chair the CloudscapeBrazil Session on Cloud federation & Open Science Cloud at cross-regional level.
" My role in EUBra-BIGSEA is both at the level of the coordination and at the level of the cloud services. Our research group has developed in the past years an ecosystem of tools to ease and optimize the deployment and execution of scientific workloads on the cloud. This experience has been enriched with the participation in key European initiatives, such as EGI-ENGAGE and INDIGO, and of course through the cooperation with Brazilian institutions from EUBrazilCloudConnect and EUBra-BIGSEA.
We would like to share our views on modern cloud based infrastructures that share components adopted in production for the industry with additional requirements coming from the scenarios identified. As all the developments in EUBra-BIGSEA are on the OpenSource, we will be able to share them and let other organization to exploit them easily."
Both EUBra-BIGSEA European as well as Brazilian coordinators, Ignacio Branquer and Wagner Meira will join the discussion panel during the Closing Session: Towards a EU-Brazil Open Science Cloud environment & future directions for 2017.
