Universities and research institutions in Brazil and Europe are benefiting from collaborating with each other in the area of Cloud Computing and Big Data Analysis. The Universitat Politècnica de València is just one example, thanks to the work of Professor Ignacio Blanquer, who is an associate professor there.
Ignacio is the European Coordinator of the EUBra-BIGSEA, supporting the development of advanced QoS services for Big Data applications for Massive Connected Societies. Ignacio was also the European Coordinator of EUBrazilCloudConnect (www.eubrazilcloudconnect.eu) and lead UPV activities in the EUBrazilOpenBio.
He has contributed to the Workshop Cloud Networks and Cloudscape Brazil events, organised by the EUBrasilCloudForum coordination project in Porto Alegre during Brazilian Computing Society Congress. As well as chairing a session on Cloud Federation & Open Science Cloud at cross-regional level, he was also a panelist in sessions on Realistic Networking in generic multi-site Cloud Deployments & the chair of a session on charting future directions for a EU-Brazil Open Science Cloud environment for 2017.
