EUROCITIES 2016 Milan will take place on 16-18 November.
This year, the EUROCITIES annual conference focuses on ‘Sharing cities’. It is also an opportunity to celebrate 30 years of EUROCITIES in one of the founding cities.
When it comes to the concept of the sharing economy, Milan is a leading city and has plenty to show on this theme, including examples of shared mobility, creativity, the use and reuse of spaces, and open governance. Milan has become the first Italian city to not only formally recognise the concept of this new form of economy, but to develop policies endorsed by its citizens around the shared economy principle.
Milan aims to start a debate on the role of cities in designing urban policies that can regulate and foster the sharing economy. Political debates, study visits and the EUROCITIES awards will focus on this important issue. There will be an exciting programme and plenty of opportunities to network with institutional representatives and stakeholders from all over Europe.
